Message from Sheriff Wayne Ivey

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Every year, I am honored to stand with our partners at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard, along with members of our Criminal Investigative Services team, as we “plant” Blue and Silver Pinwheels to bring awareness to National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
This year we were also joined by members of Serene Harbor and Biker’s Against Child Abuse as they play such an important role in keeping the children of our community safe.
April is recognized as “National Child Abuse Prevention Month,” and the pinwheel represents the whimsical nature of childhood, that they all deserve.
While it’s important to bring awareness to our community during this time, it is equally as important for us to do everything we can each and every day of the year to protect our most precious of citizens, our children.

Members of our team work closely with all of these agencies and many more in our community, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to protect our children by preventing, investigating, and solving child abuse and neglect cases. We couldn’t be more blessed to have built these amazing partnerships with people that continue to work tirelessly every year protecting innocent children.
While this mission is to bring awareness to Child Abuse Prevention, I also want to take a moment and thank our team, along with all of these organizations for everything they do to help keep children in Brevard County safe!!
