Cocoa Beach Man Arrested on Multiple Drug Charges Following Execution of Search Warrant

Significant quantity of narcotics and drug paraphernalia was discovered inside the home

Cocoa Beach Police Department detectives arrested Scott McElman, 40. They charged him with Trafficking in Fentanyl, Possession of Methamphetamines, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Violation of Pre-Trial Release Conditions.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Cocoa Beach Police Department detectives arrested Scott McElman, 40. They charged him with Trafficking in Fentanyl, Possession of Methamphetamines, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Violation of Pre-Trial Release Conditions.

According to a Cocoa Beach police spokesperson, officers, with assistance from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, executed a search warrant at a residence located at 285 Corona Avenue in Cocoa Beach on the morning of April 25.

During the operation, a significant quantity of narcotics and drug paraphernalia was discovered inside the home.

The arrest follows a month-long investigation by Cocoa Beach detectives, who gathered sufficient evidence to obtain the search warrant.

“McElman was previously arrested by the Cocoa Beach Police Department in 2022 on similar drug-related charges and was out on bond awaiting trial at the time of this latest incident,” said a Cocoa Beach police spokesperson.
