BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – As nationwide demonstrations are set to take place on Saturday, June 14 — including several in Florida — Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey delivered a strong message to anyone planning to turn peaceful protest into violence: his deputies are prepared to respond with zero tolerance.

The “No Kings” protest movement, aimed at President Donald Trump and his administration, is expected to spark more than 1,800 demonstrations across the U.S., with millions projected to participate.

Concerns are mounting among law enforcement amid reports of escalating unrest, including recent clashes in Los Angeles involving ICE agents.

Sheriff Ivey laid out specific warnings for anyone considering violent or disruptive behavior during the protests in Brevard County.

“If you throw a brick, a firebomb, or point a gun at one of my deputies, you won’t be leaving in handcuffs — your family will be collecting your remains,” said Sheriff Ivey. “We are not going to tolerate violence. We are not going to play games.”

He also warned that resisting arrest or obstructing traffic would not be taken lightly.

“If you block roads or intersections, you’re going to jail. If you flee from arrest, we will pursue you until you’re too tired to run. And if you try to swarm a vehicle and trap the driver, expect to be run over — that’s what will happen here.”

Sheriff Ivey further emphasized that physical assaults on law enforcement, including spitting or striking an officer, would result in both injury and criminal charges.

“You’ll be going to the hospital and jail,” he said. “And there’s a good chance one of our K-9s will introduce themselves to you along the way.”

Amid growing tensions over immigration enforcement and policing, Ivey defended his agency’s approach, citing a rising number of attacks on law enforcement officers and federal agents.

“This chaos must end,” he said. “Our deputies and ICE agents are being targeted just for doing their jobs. We will not allow law and order to be compromised in Brevard County.”

As June 14 approaches, law enforcement agencies across Florida and the country are preparing for potential unrest.
