Message from Sheriff Wayne Ivey

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words, but if that’s the case then can someone please tell me what these two separate booking photos are worth?
In my eyes they are worth about a year in Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge because they clearly say that Danielle Gonzalez has zero remorse about putting other’s lives at risk.
While the first photo is from a DUI arrest in 2023, the more recent photo is from last night when Deputy Jackson Hinkell was out patrolling the streets of our West Precinct and came up to a vehicle without tag lights.
Deputy Hinkell was originally going to stop the vehicle for that infraction. However, once the light turned green the car didn’t move, it just sat there.
After realizing the car wasn’t going to move, Deputy Hinkell activated his emergency lights and the vehicle suddenly moved forward and pulled into a parking lot.
As Deputy Hinkell approached the driver, Danielle Gonzalez, he asked for her information which she took a while to gather and was rambling on about random things.
Based on some obvious concerns Deputy Hinkell asked Gonzalez if she would like to do a few Field Sobriety Exercises, to which she agreed, while also telling him that she had smoked some weed.
Unfortunately, for Gonzalez the Field Sobriety Exercises or Drunk Olympics as we like to call them, didn’t go so well and she was subsequently placed under arrest for DUI.
Gonzalez was also asked to give a sample of her breath, and let’s just say that didn’t help her either, as she blew a 0.160.
Well folks, you know what happens next, the Iron Bar Lodge Courtesy Shuttle shows up and Gonzalez got a ride to the Brevard County Jail on a $1,000 bond for DUI-2nd Offense.
Hopefully a Brevard County Judge will see the booking photo this time and take the appropriate action to keep Gonzalez locked behind bars for a little while until she realizes that her selfish acts are putting other’s lives at risk!!
