FHP: Deadly Chain-Reaction Crash Closes I-95 in Titusville; Good Samaritan in Critical Condition

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a fatal chain-reaction incident that occurred Friday night on northbound Interstate 95, just south of State Road 46.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a fatal chain-reaction incident that occurred Friday night on northbound Interstate 95, just south of State Road 46.

According to FHP, the crash began when a driver stopped his vehicle along the northbound lanes and exited.

He was then struck by two passing vehicles and died at the scene.

A woman who stopped to help — identified by troopers as a Good Samaritan — was also struck by a vehicle while attempting to render aid.

She was airlifted to a trauma hospital in critical condition.

Northbound I-95 is currently shut down at State Road 406 in Titusville as troopers conduct their investigation and crews work to clear the roadway. Drivers are being urged to avoid the area and expect significant delays.
