BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A fundraiser will be held on Tuesday, December 2, at Ellie Mae’s Tiki Bar, 116 Jackson Avenue in Cape Canaveral to support the Hannah Bernard Memorial Scholarship Fund. The event is from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
This fundraiser, in memory of Hannah Bernard, is designed not only to support the Hannah Bernard Memorial Scholarship Fund but also to raise awareness of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).
Hannah died on December 27, 2015, due to complications from CRPS.
According to the Mayo Clinic website, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) is a form of chronic pain that usually affects an arm or a leg. CRPS typically develops after an injury, a surgery, a stroke, or a heart attack. The pain is out of proportion to the severity of the initial injury.

Hannah’s mom, Janet Bernard, said, “We do this event every year now for two reasons. Number one is to fund the Hannah Bernard Memorial Scholarship for young people who are suffering from pain disorders. Every dime raised goes to the scholarships. Last year we were able to award three scholarships of $3,000.00 each.”
Janet went on to say, “The second reason is to raise awareness of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), a serious neurological pain disorder that most people have never heard of.”
Music will highlight the evening, with The Trailer Court Jesters performing alongside special guests Donnie Howard, Jena Crute, and Dave Birks.
Tickets are $20, and attendees are asked to wear orange for the “Color the World Orange Night.”
For those who are unable to attend but would like to support this worthwhile event, you may do so by scanning the QR code below and tagging “Hannah Bernard Memorial Scholarship.”
