
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Interstate 95 northbound was shut down in northern Brevard County following a deadly crash involving two commercial trucks in the Mims area early today.
According to authorities, the collision occurred near mile marker 228 on I-95 northbound. One of the truck drivers was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger involved in the crash sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
All northbound lanes of I-95 remained were closed as emergency crews work the scene.
Traffic was being diverted off the interstate at State Road 46, where motorists were urged to follow posted detours and directions from law enforcement.
The Florida Highway Patrol is leading the investigation, and no further details have been released at this time regarding the cause of the crash or the identities of those involved.
