
BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Police Department arrested Edison Antonio, 26, on Jan. 14, 2026, in connection with multiple outstanding warrants from several jurisdictions, including Brevard and St. Lucie counties in Florida and Fayetteville, West Virginia.
According to police, Antonio was wanted on charges of sexual battery, robbery and felony battery out of Brevard County, as well as a violation of probation tied to a felony battery case in St. Lucie County.
He was also wanted for failure to appear in connection with dangerous drugs charges in Fayetteville, West Virginia.
Investigators say Antonio has an extensive criminal history, with prior convictions that include possession of paraphernalia in 2017, domestic battery by strangulation in 2018, false imprisonment in 2018, tampering with a witness or victim in 2018, and improper exhibition of a dangerous weapon in 2020. Several of those offenses were investigated by the Palm Bay Police Department.
The most recent investigation stemmed from incidents that began on Jan. 6, 2026, and continued over the course of several days. Police said Antonio allegedly targeted a victim he had recently met and transported them to a residence in Palm Bay. While at the residence, investigators allege Antonio physically battered the victim multiple times over several days.
Authorities determined the victim was intimidated and confined to the residence despite expressing a desire to leave. Antonio is also accused of sexually battering the victim and later taking property from them.
In a statement, the Palm Bay Police Department acknowledged the courage it takes for victims to come forward and emphasized its commitment to conducting thorough investigations that prioritize victim safety, dignity and support.
The department said it remains committed to bringing justice to those harmed and taking offenders into custody.
The investigation remains ongoing. Police encouraged community members to remain mindful of their personal safety and to use caution when meeting or placing trust in new acquaintances.
