Coach Schneider had an overall record of 82–23 at Cocoa
BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa High School head football coach Ryan Schneider has stepped down after eight seasons leading the Tigers’ program.
Schneider took over as head coach ahead of the 2018 season and quickly guided Cocoa to sustained success at the state level.
During his tenure, the Tigers advanced to the state championship game five times — in 2018, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 — capturing three state titles along the way.
Cocoa enjoyed a historic run under Schneider, winning three consecutive state championships from 2022 through 2024 while also extending the program’s streak to 19 straight regional championship titles.
In his first season as head coach, Schneider guided the Tigers to a 10-4 record and a trip to the Class 4A state championship game, where Cocoa finished as the state runner-up after falling to Raines.
Schneider captured his first state championship in 2022 when the Tigers defeated Florida High in overtime of the Class 2S state title game, closing the season with an 11-3 record. Cocoa followed that success in 2023 by repeating as Class 2S champions with a victory over Bradford, finishing the year 14-1.
Schneider, who was hired in the spring of 2018, previously served as offensive coordinator at Melbourne Central Catholic and at national powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas.
