One occupant sustained serious injuries

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA — A small plane crashed on Friday afternoon in a wooded area just west of Space Coast Regional Airport and just north of Shepard Drive, according to the Titusville Police Department.
At approximately 2:13 p.m., a call was placed to 911 reporting that a small plane had crashed.
The call was made by the occupants of the aircraft, identified as a flight instructor and a student pilot.
Emergency personnel from the Titusville Police Department, Titusville Fire Department, and Brevard County Fire Rescue responded immediately to the scene.
One occupant sustained serious injuries, while the second occupant sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Both were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
A federal agency is responding to the scene and will be investigating the cause of the crash.
