Fine received 54% of the vote

Brevard County resident and Republican state Senator Randy Fine has secured victory in the special election for Florida’s 6th Congressional District, succeeding former Representative Mike Waltz, who resigned to serve as President Donald Trump’s national security adviser.
Pre-election polls indicated a competitive race, with some internal surveys suggesting Fine was trailing.
Despite being significantly outspent by Democrat Josh Weil’s campaign, which raised nearly $9 million compared to Fine’s $1 million, Fine secured the seat with approximately 54% of the vote.
In response, Fine invested $600,000 to bolster his campaign efforts.
This outcome underscores the district’s Republican leanings. The district previously supported Trump with a 66.5% majority in 2024.
Fine’s campaign received endorsements from prominent Republican figures, including President Trump, Senator Rick Scott, and House leadership. His platform emphasized securing borders, protecting election integrity, defending life, and safeguarding Second Amendment rights.
Fine’s victory maintains the Republican hold on Florida’s 6th District and contributes to the GOP’s slim majority in the House of Representatives.
Fine has been elected to both the state house and senate. Born and raised in Florida, he is a prominent figure in the state’s political landscape, known for his conservative stances and active involvement in legislative matters.
Fine’s political journey began with his 2016 election to the Florida House of Representatives. He diligently represented his district in Brevard County, focusing on issues pertinent to his constituents and the broader Florida community.
In 2024, Fine successfully ran for the Florida Senate, further solidifying his role in state politics.
In January 2025, Fine won the Republican primary to succeed former U.S. Representative Michael Waltz, who had resigned to become President Donald Trump’s national security adviser. Trump’s endorsement bolstered Fine’s victory in the primary, reflecting his alignment with the “America First” agenda.
Fine is recognized for his conservative positions on various issues. He is a staunch supporter of Israel and has advocated for policies reflecting this stance. Additionally, Fine has been involved in efforts to restrict LGBTQ+ rights, aligning with the broader conservative agenda in Florida.
