Kimberly Wesley arrested for DUI and Violation of Probation

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Well, here we are once again talking about those who apparently have zero common sense because they drive under the influence.
Folks, it doesn’t matter how much we say not to drive impaired, people for whatever selfish reason continue to do it, putting not only their lives at risk, but all of the citizens on the road around them as well.
We post it on signs, say it in public service announcements, and even sing it in jingles, but for some reason there are those out there that just refuse to listen.
Like this past Monday evening when our dispatch received multiple cars regarding a vehicle driving in an unsafe manner in the Titusville area. Sgt. Lakeman responded to the location and observed the vehicle which was now sideways off the road, with the driver appearing to be passed out behind the wheel with the engine on and the car still in drive.
Deputy Fedro subsequently arrived on scene and assisted with getting the driver, Kimberly Wesley, out of the vehicle. Wesley, once out of the car, wasn’t too quick to follow commands as she was observed staring at the roof or in other directions, and also wasn’t steady on her feet once she got out of the car.
Wesley did agree however to give our Field Sobriety Exercises a go, but as you might have guessed didn’t do too well at it.
As a result, Wesley was transported to Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge where she would be able to safely stay the night and not put anyone else in harm’s way, including herself.
Of course, while at the lodge she was administered a breath test, which she was unable to complete as she had trouble following the instructions and seemingly falling asleep.
She did however agree to provide a urine sample which will be sent off for testing, so while the results will be forthcoming
I’m going go out on a limb and say she didn’t do very well.
Oh and to top things off, Deputy Fedro determined that Wesley was currently on Felony Probation, so in addition to the DUI she received an extra charge for onsite Violation of Probation.
I want to personally thank our citizens for seeing something and saying something, as this is what we rely on to help keep our community safe!! And of course a great job by Sgt. Lakeman and Deputy Fedro for getting Wesley out from behind the wheel and putting her behind bars which is right where she belongs.
– Sheriff Wayne Ivey
