totaled 318 tackles and nine interceptions across three varsity seasons at Rockledge

BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – Former Rockledge High School star linebacker DJ McCormick has entered the NCAA transfer portal after redshirting his freshman season at UCF, the program confirmed this week.
McCormick, a 2024 signee, did not appear in any games during his first year with the Knights and will retain four years of eligibility.
A highly productive defender during his prep career, McCormick starred for Rockledge High School, where he totaled 318 tackles and nine interceptions across three varsity seasons.
As a senior in 2023, he recorded 114 tackles, 2.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, and one interception, helping lead the Raiders to the second round of the FHSAA Class 3S playoffs.
He was named to the 2023 All-District 12 team by Brevard County coaches and was an All-Cape Coast Conference selection in 2022.
As a junior, McCormick tallied 119 tackles, four forced fumbles, three interceptions, three pass breakups, three fumble recoveries, and two sacks. His breakout sophomore season in 2021 saw him collect 97 tackles and five interceptions.
McCormick enrolled at UCF in January 2024 and participated in spring football drills.
He chose UCF over programs such as USF, Indiana, and West Virginia to name a few after considering over 20 division 1 offers.
