BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Following extensive negotiations and advocacy for improved wages, Brevard County commissioners have unanimously approved a new contract that delivers substantial pay increases for fire rescue personnel.
The agreement includes a 21% raise for firefighters, an 18% boost for paramedics, and a 26% increase for fire inspectors. The contract also provides retroactive pay dating back to October 2024.
“Today marks the first big step in Brevard County’s public safety,” said Michael Bramson, president of the Brevard County Professional Firefighters Local 2969.
Fire Chief Patrick Voltaire said the department continues to face staffing shortages and emphasized the importance of competitive pay in recruiting and retaining qualified personnel.
The newly approved contract is seen as a critical move toward strengthening emergency services across the county.
