BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA — Bruce Cameron, Director of Cruise Operations for the Canaveral Port Authority, has been elected Propeller Club of Port Canaveral 2026 President – leading the organization dedicated to promoting the maritime industry and global trade.

Cameron brings decades of maritime, security, and operational leadership to the role. He began his career in the United States Marine Corps, where he developed the discipline, teamwor,k and mission-focused mindset that continues to guide his professional life.

After his military service, he joined Port Tampa Bay as a security officer and spent the next 18 years advancing through security and operations roles, gaining extensive experience in port safety, regulatory compliance, emergency response, and complex vessel and terminal operations.

Bruce Cameron, Director of Cruise Operations for the Canaveral Port Authority, has been elected Propeller Club of Port Canaveral 2026 President – leading the organization dedicated to promoting the maritime industry and global trade.

In January 2022, Cameron relocated to Brevard County to become Director of Cruise Operations at Port Canaveral, where he oversees strategic planning, operational performance, and continued growth for the port, which is widely recognized as the world’s busiest cruise port.

Shortly after arriving, he joined the Canaveral Propeller Club, drawn to its mission of connecting professionals and strengthening the maritime community. Since joining the club’s Board of Directors in 2023, Cameron has played an active role in advancing its programs and supporting its members.

As he steps into the presidency, Cameron said he looks forward to building on the organization’s strong foundation while encouraging greater collaboration throughout the port community.

Port Canaveral is celebrating one of its own after Bruce Cameron, Director of Cruise Operations, above center, was named president of the Port Canaveral chapter of the Propeller Club — the first Port employee ever to hold the position.

The Propeller Club of Port Canaveral will host the Propeller Club of the United States Southeast Regional Conference in April 2026, bringing maritime leaders from across the region to the Space Coast.

“Ports throughout the Southeast are eager to visit our port due to its unmatched economic impact and its global significance,” Cameron said. “As the busiest port in the world, our operations set the standard for efficiency, innovation, and scale.”

Under Cameron’s leadership, the club will continue to emphasize its annual fundraising events, including the popular ShrimpFeast and Golf Tournament. Proceeds from these events provide scholarships for Brevard County high school graduates pursuing post-secondary education in maritime-related fields, including trade schools. The club also supports the Rockledge High School HELM Maritime Studies program.

The Propeller Club is a business network dedicated to promoting the maritime industry, commerce, and global trade.

It works to foster communication and collaboration among Port Canaveral stakeholders, maritime professionals, local businesses, and the broader community.

The club hosts monthly luncheons featuring guest speakers open to the public, as well as signature events such as the annual ShrimpFeast, the July fireworks dinner, and the Christmas party.
