Brevard County has several athletes sign early to Division I Colleges

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Eau Gallie’s star athlete Xavier Lherisse has signed with Oregon, Cocoa’s standout safety CJ Hester has signed with Florida, and Melbourne Central Catholic’s top players — quarterback Brogan McNab and offensive lineman Javeion Cooper — have signed with UAB and Syracuse, respectively.
Lherisse, a consensus four-star safety, received offers from nearly every major program in the country. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Eau Gallie standout showcased rare versatility throughout his high school career, finishing with 3,764 total yards, 47 touchdowns, 155 tackles and 26 interceptions. He has remained committed to Oregon since giving a verbal pledge in February 2025.
Another Eau Gallie player, Marques Oliveira, signed with Tennessee State University. Although he spent just one season with the Commodores, he made an impact, recording 27 tackles, including three for loss.
Cocoa safety CJ Hester is headed to Gainesville as an early enrollee with the University of Florida. Despite Florida firing head coach Billy Napier two months ago, Hester remained firm in his commitment. The four-star defensive back has been a cornerstone of the Tigers’ defense over the past several seasons and was considered one of the top DBs in Florida. He finished his high school career with 186 tackles, seven interceptions, and 313 total yards with two touchdowns on offense.

Melbourne Central Catholic featured two major Division I signees. Brogan McNab, a multi-sport athlete and prolific dual-threat quarterback, signed with the University of Alabama at Birmingham. McNab amassed 4,680 passing yards and 52 touchdowns, along with 2,743 rushing yards and 35 rushing touchdowns. Though he also played on defense, his primary impact came under center.

Offensive lineman Javeion Cooper, a consensus four-star recruit, signed with Syracuse as an early enrollee. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound lineman held numerous offers from top programs, including Florida State, Colorado and Nebraska. His size and physicality were instrumental in powering the Hustlers’ strong running game.
